Holland midfielder Mark Van Bommel has hailed the importance of picking up all three points against Japan at the World Cup.The Oranje were made to work hard to overcome Japan in their second World Cup encounter, but Van Bommel stressed after the match that the most important thing was to add three points to their tally.
Quizzed on the importance of the result, the Bayern Munich man told ARD: "That's right, if you watched the match. We wanted the victory. Japan played defensively, we expected them to be more aggressive and offensive. It was a match of patience.
"Of course we had some luck in the goal, in the end we could have won 2-0 after our counter-attacks. But Japan also had some chances."
