Battler looks to past to bring success.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Wilson Palacios has been unable to hide his pride at Honduras' World Cup 2010 campaign. The Central American side have been placed alongside Euro 2008 winners Spain, Chile and Switzerland in Group H. After spending 28 years in the international wilderness after failing to qualify for the sport's premier tournament, the 26-year old battler was thrilled to be in South Africa.
Speaking to the press, Palacios said: "People are so excited at home and it makes me very proud to be part of something which is bringing joy to my country.
"The last time we played at the World Cup was back in 1982, I wasn't even born!
"My father told me we had a good team and they gave a good account of themselves.
"For my generation of players though, this is our time now and I hope I can play a big part in the competition."
