Former Spain coach Luis Aragones has criticised his country's tactics after their 1-0 defeat to Switzerland, claiming their poor start undermined their chances.
Aragones, who led Spain to victory in Euro 2008, said: "There wasn't enough conviction to go and seize the game from the opening second. We lacked speed off the ball, and we didn't look for open space well enough."
"The better team didn't win, just the better organised one."
Current coach Vincente del Bosque refused to be drawn into a war of words, saying he "totally respected" Aragones' opinions.
"Not one bad word will escape my mouth about him. There is only one Spain, not one Del Bosque one and another Aragones one.
"Everyone has the right to express their own opinions. He's a person that knows this group of players. He's worked with them and has achieved success."
