World Cup 2010: FA Launch FIFA Complaint After Angry Fan Confronts David Beckham And England In Dressing Room

David Beckham warms up with the team during the England training session at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus on June 14, 2010 in Rustenburg, South Africa.

Complaint lodged after supporter breaches security.

The Football Association has launched an official complaint to FIFA after a fan broke in to the England dressing room and berated David Beckham.

The intrusion occurred immediately after the nation's disappointing 0-0 Group C draw against Algeria which has put qualification to the knockout stages of World Cup 2010 in doubt. Security is usually rigid around such events, but this breach has enraged the FA who have demanded an explanation from FIFA.

Beckham is believed to be the victim of the event. The injured ex-Three Lions skipper has traveled with the squad to the tournament despite being unable to feature and has been a constant presence with the players.

An official statement from the FA read: "A fan got in past FIFA security.

"We have formerly complained to FIFA after the game and will follow it up in writing.

"This is not acceptable and thankfully no serious harm was done."

The comment has left no doubt to whom the FA have apportioned blame. Their reaction has been especially severe since Prince Harry and Prince William had earlier been in the dressing room, though they had left by the time of the break.
