Cagliari's shot stopper attracts Premier League and Bundesliga giants.
Italy goalkeeper Federico Marchetti is being courted by Arsenal and Bayern Munich according to TGR Sardegna news channel.Marchetti, who is deputising for the injured Gianluigi Buffon at the World Cup, has attracted interest from both clubs, who are expected to approach his club side Cagliari over his availability.
Arsenal seem in pole position to stage negotiations with the Italians. The 27-year-old Marchetti was outstanding for the Rossoblu last term, so much so he convinced Italy coach Marcello Lippi to take him to South Africa as Buffon's understudy.
However, the Gunners' interest could be challenged by Bayern Munich, who are also in the hunt for a top-class goalkeeper.
Juventus have also been linked with the Italian, but it seems they have reached a deal with Milan to sign Marco Storari for €4.5 million, though neither club have confirmed it officially.
